The FT-801 Fourier transform spectrometer is designed to record the absorption spectra of solid, liquid, and gaseous substances, including narcotics, pharmaceuticals, polymers, varnishes and paints, petroleum products, explosives, crystals, and optical components.
When used with appropriate attachments, it enables the acquisition of transmission, specular and diffuse reflectance, and attenuated total internal reflection spectra with subsequent identification, as well as the qualitative and quantitative analysis of mixtures containing multiple components. It is recommended for use in forensic, customs, research, educational, industrial, and environmental laboratories.
The spectrometer features a uniquely designed, misalignment-resistant "double cat's eye" interferometer optical design (patents in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan). The device is automated and computer-controlled (USB interface). Users are offered an information retrieval system, developed with the participation of the Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, which enables successful substance identification without the need for reference samples. Spectral databases contain over 130,000 spectra. Users can create and add their own spectra, perform quantitative analysis, and conduct automated verification.
